Foundation and Early Years:

The team’s roots can be traced back to 1950 when it was originally founded as Scuderia Ferrari. In its early years, it was closely associated with the Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo and competed under the Alfa Romeo name. The team achieved significant success in the 1950s, including winning the inaugural Formula 1 World Championship in 1950 with Giuseppe Farina and again in 1951 with Juan Manuel Fangio.

Renaming and Rebranding:

The team underwent several name changes and rebranding efforts over the decades. It competed as Autodelta SpA Alfa Romeo in the 1970s and 1980s, but its success waned in the later years. After a hiatus from the sport, Alfa Romeo returned as a title sponsor for the Sauber F1 Team in 2018 then rebranded for the 2024 season under the name Kick Sauber Stake F1 Team

Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen Era:

In 2019, the team officially became Alfa Romeo Racing, forging a partnership with Polish oil company PKN Orlen.

Performance:

While Kick Sauber hasn’t been a consistent front-runner in recent years, the team has demonstrated its ability to score points and compete with midfield rivals. Its emphasis on developing young talent and improving its car’s performance makes it a team to watch for the future.

Sponsorship:

The team’s partnership with PKN Orlen, a Polish oil company, has been instrumental in its recent identity as Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen. Additionally, Alfa Romeo’s involvement as a title sponsor reflects the team’s close connection with the iconic Italian automotive brand. The withdrawl of Alfa Romeo sponsorship for 2024 and 2025 and the involvement of Stake will introduce a new era for the team, striving to push boundaries, innovation and excitement for the 2024 season.

Future Outlook:

With a renewed focus on performance and the development of young drivers, Kick Sauber is aiming to climb the ranks in Formula 1. Under the leadership of Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur, the team continues to work toward achieving greater success and building on its storied history in the sport.
