Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a modern motorsport racing facility located in Elroy, a southeastern suburb of Austin, Texas. Its location was chosen to attract visitors from Austin and nearby areas. In addition to F1 and motorsport events, COTA hosts various music concerts and festivals, making it a versatile entertainment venue.

COTA has been hosting the Formula One United States Grand Prix since 2012. It quickly gained popularity among drivers and fans due to its modern facilities and challenging track design. Apart from Formula One, COTA also hosts MotoGP races, making it one of the few tracks in the world to host both top-tier Formula One and MotoGP events.

Track Layout

The circuit is known for its challenging layout, featuring a mix of fast straights and tight corners. The extra wide Turn 1 also makes for some exciting opportunities to overtake. It was designed to be a challenging, varied track suitable for a wide range of motorsport events.

Notable Features

The circuit boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a large main grandstand, hospitality suites, and excellent viewing areas for spectators. It has a seating capacity of around 120,000 people.
